After the attack April 1st, the call for volunteers to re-board to fight the fire went out. Among those that returned was LTJG Frey. Although there were six officers and eighteen enlisted, I believe all received at minimum the Coast Guard Commendation Medal, yet only LTJG Frey made the USCG Book of Valor, May 1945 edition with supplements.
